Do you find yourself wondering how to get out of stuck?
Is it difficult to get things done because you just can't find the time?
Are you afraid to move forward toward your dream even though you think about it all the time?
Do you feel like you are on a hamster wheel always running but never getting anywhere with your personal and business paths?
You are not alone. After talking to many artists and creatives who are running a business, trying to run a business or creatives who haven't taken a step to offer the world their service, there are two things that always come up. FEAR and BALANCE.
I am offering a free webinar in October, date to be determined because I'm traveling right now, that will help get you on the right track.
After years of being in the arts in one form or another and dealing with rejections, depression and a slew of other things that many of us go through, I decided to share my knowledge.
In 2013 I decided to go into business for myself on a full time basis. Over the years I have mentored and not too long ago I decided to get some top class coaching for myself.
With my life and business moving at such a clip it's time to offer some of this knowledge to the public. Quite frankly I wasn't certain about doing it but after two years of thinking about it, I'm creating the Creative Mindset Series™.
The series will be ongoing, covering topics that will help you deal with personal and business growth. No, I'm not saying I'm going to show you how to make millions, I'm saying that I will show you how to get through the day.
After getting through a day - as with most everything that moves us forward - you rinse and repeat - take action - rinse and repeat.
It works really well when you have some guidance.
Sign up for my email list and email me if you are interested in taking this free webinar. Just put WEBINAR 1 in all caps in the subject line. Without that the emails aren't sorted and I don't want to miss you.
Maddy's Girlz™ and I wish you a great day!
What I am offering today is valuable whether you are in art licensing or another type of creative business.
Know that you are in the right place, at the right time and that if you live with intention, you will seriously get to where you are going in your art licensing journey.
Maddy's Girlz™ and I set our intentions deep and work hard at getting to that next level. There are always changes and if you look to the sides you will see people who seem to be flying by you. STOP. They have their feet planted where they are meant to be.
Here are 7 ways to support your well being in art licensing;
1. Do not compare yourself with others - they are on their journey and you need to stay on yours;
2. Allow others to enjoy their spotlight time - when it's your turn, and it WILL come if you keep at it, your light will shine just as bright;
3. Understand that art licensing is a journey and it can take time - enjoy what you do, take positive forward steps and know that even lateral steps can be magnificent;
4. Continue to learn and be involved with the industry - approach it with an open mind and a desire to support others;
5. Respect the community for all that it is and all that is has to offer - when you find your tribe life is more brilliant;
6. Be YOU - through all the trends that are necessary, hold onto who YOU are in your creative process while learning to be open to new things;
7. Contracts will come - be aware of everything else that is there for your art as well. Art licensing entails a lot of avenues and it's a huge world; and
8. Crush the fear of stepping into the art licensing arena and bring what you have - everyone has something to offer and knowledge to share, so listen, observe and participate.
Get out there and do what you love doing
Here's to your creative mindset.
If you don't have an agent, 60,000 images, clip art that eats memory like a hungry hamster, a library of icons and you are not sure of any of what goes on in art licensing the Art Licensing Show is for you.
When you have no push behind you, be your own push. Today art licensing isn't as easy as it was years ago. I know that because I have listened to people in classes at SURTEX, agents who have told me, artists who have expressed that and I see first hand at what it takes to get going in an industry that used to boast 6 figure incomes.
It's not easy - but what is? Art licensing is a long term trek not a quick stop off.
Today, many art licensing artists have multiple streams of income to support themselves. Especially if you are the only heartbeat in the house as I and countless other artists are, you have to work smart.
There are multiple groups of artists in this industry all over the globe. Upon your decision to come over to the art licensing side, think about joining The Art Licensing Show where you will be open to the opportunity of contacting multiple people at any time, where your art is safe, where you can connect with other artists and have some fun while shopping your art.
In today's art licensing climate, it seems that you need to be more of a business person than every before. ALSC is like entering a party where all the tables are already set nicely and you simply have to join the fun. LOVE IT.
It's not always easy and you might get those days when you want to throw the computer out the window...no yoga poses there, but if you want it, allow yourself to experience the industry. Starting with ALSC will cut your trekking time because everything is there for you.
Whether you are an artist, manufacturer, art director or an agent, ALSC is a playground waiting for you to toss in your ball.
Madeline, why did you post this? I posted it because people ask me what and how. My ask to them is WHY...why do you want it. It's not a walk in the park by any means but it's a community that we all fit into. You will find your way.
So to those of you wanting to cross the bridge over to art licensing; do it. It's a great industry and the challenges will only help you along the way. Wanna' play?Come on over to ALSC.
Here's to your creativity.
